Rabies
Causes
Rabies is most often spred through an infected animal biting an unvaccinated animal or human, and the saliva containing the virus gets into the victims body. On occasion, the virus can be spread by infected saliva getting into an open wound or mucous membrane of another mammal. Lastly, in rare cases, the virus may be spread through tissue and organ transplants because of an infected organ.
